Do Ivorians need a visa for Dubai?
Yes. For a holiday in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi), Ivorian passport holders need a tourist electronic visa (e-Visa). Travellers do not apply for this visa themselves: it is pre-arranged by a sponsor, meaning an approved agency, an airline or a hotel in the Emirates. It allows a stay of 30 days, with a 60-day option.
How much does a Dubai visa cost?
Here are the fees for the pre-arranged tourist visa, as listed in our travel requirements matrix:
| Visa type | Length of stay | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Tourist visa (single entry) | 30 days | 200 AED + VAT, i.e. 210 AED (about 57 USD) |
| Long-stay tourist visa | 60 days | 315 AED |
These amounts are the official visa fees. Depending on the sponsor, service charges may be added: your MALYA adviser will tell you the exact amount when you apply.
The process, step by step
- Set your dates and book your return flight and accommodation. The return ticket is one of the required documents.
- Gather your documents: a clear copy of your passport's photo page, a recent passport photo on a light background, your return ticket and medical insurance covering your whole stay.
- Send your application to the sponsor. When you travel with MALYA, our advisers check your documents and help you put your application together.
- Receive your e-Visa electronically. Print it and keep it with your passport: you will be asked for it at check-in in Abidjan and again on arrival in Dubai.
Also check your passport's validity: it must remain valid for long enough after your return. Our advisers check this as soon as you request a quote.
How long does it take?
Processing time depends on the sponsor and the time of year: it is never guaranteed in advance. Our advice is simple: apply as soon as your trip is booked, rather than waiting until the last week. This is especially true for year-end departures, when Dubai welcomes huge numbers of visitors and applications pile up.
When to go to Dubai
The best months to visit Dubai and Abu Dhabi are November, December, January, February and March. In December, the weather is ideal: 25 to 28°C, clear skies and the sea at around 24°C. In summer, on the other hand, the heat is overwhelming and outdoor activities become difficult.
